Craft Night

Finally getting around to posting images from our second craft night last week. The project was pin cushions. Mine (the brown and pink one) was a little lumpy abut I love using it.. I think that Ryann's (gray with yellow leaves) and Jen's (asian) look pretty pro. Also, I love the horse one that Nic made, the fabric and cropping are fantastic, and Katie's flower fabric is super cute.

Building a crib

After many issues, we finally got our new Dwell crib from Target. It only took them loosing one, canceling that order after several weeks of waiting, waiting for the crib to come back in stock, reordering it in a different color, calling several times for a refund of the first crib, putting the second one together only to have the original one show up the next day.

We put it together this weekend and I love it. It is nicely made and you can't beat the price for a simple modern crib. As far as putting furniture together it wasn't too difficult. We had a hard time figuring out how the drop side worked so we thought we had it on wrong at first. Cribs apparently only come with directions on how to put them together not how to operate them (a necessary item for those of us who have never used one before).

Getting Crafty

I thought I would use my first real submission to post some of the things that I've made recently. I've seem to have a new found love for sewing and all things handmade and have been reading books and taking classes. I've even joined a small group of friends for a reoccurring craft night. I'm hosting the next one and we are making pin cushions. In order: purse made at First Samples class, quilt runner made at Craftorama class, baby bib made at craft night.

This is my new blog where I will be posting all kinds of projects, ideas and random going ons. I'm sure with the new baby here soon you will be hearing a lot about that too. I know that I get a lot of great ideas and inspiration from other creative blogs and I hope to contribute a little inspiration of my own.
